FDL Connecting Rod Checking Fixture

All connecting rod measurements, parallel and twist can be made with this fixture. The connecting rod has only to be placed in the fixture for all measurements. The master setting mandrels are ground to establish the minimum length acceptable for both rods. By placing the rod into the fixture the dial indicators indicate how much the rod length is over the minimum. Negative numbers indicate a short rod and the rod should be scrapped. the difference between the indicators tell the operator the "out of parallel" in 8". Twist is measured by placing a shim, measuring at the gap, between the mandrel and the rail. A butterfly mandrel is supplied to mount in the crankshaft bore of the master rod.
