The T59521 Reverser Handle plugs into the reverser on the control stand. The other end (plug end) plugs into the electrical jog receptical. A push button switch in the handle is depressed to jog the locomotive forward or backward using the locomotive battery and traction motor to provide power. The locomotive engine need not be started, eliminating smoke and noise.

It is good to know "why" this tool is so valuable. There are cases known where someone just uses a jumper wire in the receptacle on the control stand for jogging. The problem is you are basically bypassing the locomotives power to the BKT/Rev switches. So, if you use a jumper wire, you MUST remember to move the reverser manually to forward, reverse or centered. If someone forgets this while jogging, the locomotive is going to continue to move.

By using the T59522 not only do you have to move the reverser, forward, or centered, you must also push the button we supply on top of the reverser handle to engage the jogging function. This creates a much safer environment for anyone jogging locomotives.
